American Legion / Krause-Kraft Post

Provides activities and observances for veterans of U.S. armed services.  Active in community events.  Cliff Dembrowski 833-6738

American Legion Auxilliary

Organization for spouses of Legion members.  Active in various community event.  Donna Hanseter. 833-2469

AODA Prevention Board

Provides drug and alcohol counseling throughout the community, especially geared toward prevention in schools. Rachel Rock. 833-7199

Boy Scouts & Cub Scouts of America

Provide activites for yound men through various educational and growth-oriented programs.  Active in community events.  Boy Scouts – Aaron Burmeister 833-7719; Cub Scouts – Mark Tilkens 882-8173

Chamber of Commerce

Works to support and promote the city through its businesses.  Activities include City-Wide Rummage as well as support of other community activities.  833-6053

Ducks Unlimited

Promotes waterfowl habitat and hunter safety. Bill Brooks 833-7417.

Ecumenical Choir

Presents a Christmas concert each holiday season, with proceeds benefiting the local nursing home.  Marion Freemore, 833-6210.

FFA Alumni

Alumni support a variety of community organizations, especially the FFA group at Seymour Community High School.  Tony Farley 833-7171

Food Pantry

The pantry operates in City Hall, 328 N. Main St. Stocking held 2nd and 4th Mondays, and open hours held 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month.  Donations of cereal, paper products, non-perishable food, and money welcome.  Grace Helms 833-6266.

Friends of the Library

Organizes and operates a wide variety of programs and fundraisers for the Muehl Public Library.  Meetings every third Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm.  Friendships available to all.  Contact Elizabeth Timmins 833-2725.

Girl Scouts

Provide enrichment, growth-oriented programs for school-age girls.  Catherine Goetz 833-6921

Good Shephard Volunteers

Supports residents and their families at Good Shephard Nursing Home, Sarah Kneisler 833-6856.

Home of the Hamburger, Inc.

Presents the annual Burger Fest in downtown Seymour and maintains the Hamburger Hall of Fame.  Jim Campbell 833-6978.

Hunter Safety

Safety classes are offered to budding outdoorsmen and women.  Norman Blohm 833-6377, Mel Sievert 833-2901

First Tee

Provides golf instruction, programs for local youth.  Crystal Springs Golf Course 833-1500

Kiwanis Club

Civic group responsible for variety of activities.  Co-sponsor of Outstanding Citizen Award with Times-Press, open to anyone.  Margorie Zibell 833-6587

Knights of Columbus

Catholic Fraternal group.  St. John’s Catholic Church 833-6140

Lion’s Club

Seymour Optimists

Service Club with focus on youth-related services.  Meets 1st and 3rd Tuesday Hotel Seymour.

Model Railroad Club

Maintains working model and facility at old depot.  Open house held 1st and 3rd Sundays, 1-3 pm.  Jim Baxter 833-2241

Quill Club

A group of area writers dedicated to their craft.  Susan Manzke 833-6535

Salvation Army

Coordinates Christmas bell-ringing, Thanksgiving and Easter food baskets and other charitable work throughout the yuear.  Betty Schroeder 833-6296

Senior Citizens of Seymour

Provides card parties, nutrition site a Good Shepherd Home, bingo and various other programs, transportation, and blood pressure and blood sugar testing.  Nancy Brinkman 833-2614

Seymour Community Museum & Historical Society

Volunteer group maintains the museum which catalogs the area’s history. Rita Gosse, 833-2868

Seymour Economic Development Corporation
